Advert We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to Assist in the management and provision of a Project Management service to support the Council’s Capital and Revenue building programme for General Services (including Childrens’ Services) and Housing Services Building Programmes ensuring compliance with the Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Regulations. It is essential that you have a degree and/or relevant professional construction qualification (BSc/Diploma) Membership of a recognised professional institute is desirable (eg-RICS/ARB/CIBSE/APM/IOB) you should advise their valid membership number of the relevant institute within the application form. Experience of working in a project environment and applying project management tools or methods in this environment and experience of managing multiple pieces of work at once and managing conflicting priorities is essential. You must have an awareness of change methodologies and formal project management methodologies, numeracy skills and have proficiency with IT systems relating to the construction industry. You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of high-quality construction projects within cost, time and quality parameters, working with the Programme Unit as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a challenging environment. In addition, you will have a customer-focused, innovative, flexible approach to work, possess effective verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal and organisational skills. You must be able to develop working relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders and be an analytical problem solver. A valid UK driving licence and use of own transport is essential. Training in formal project management methodology, Qualification or Accreditation in Project Management and Knowledge of national corporate procurement, partnership contracting policy, legislation and programmes is desirable. Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 3 Years or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
