Job Description
Are you ready to join a team of talented and innovative engineers within our UK Transmission & Distribution business and grow your career? AECOM is experiencing a period of major growth within traditional and non‑traditional end‑markets, including the connection of renewable generation and data centres to the transmission system.
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Primary plant layouts for HV substations
* Equipment specifications for HV plant and associated equipment
* Provide engineering design input to major infrastructure projects
* Owner’s Engineer role on HV substation/Cable and OHL projects
* Provide HV design input to renewable energy projects (e.g., battery storage, solar, hydro, wind)
* Provide professional services to clients in the UK/Ireland and overseas

Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* A Degree in Electrical Engineering
* Experience working on High Voltage design projects
* Experience with major utilities or developers
* Experience as a designer or project engineer
* Experience developing specifications or detailed designs for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear
* Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
* Experience in technical report writing
* Fluency in English
* Full driving license and access to a personal vehicle for site visits
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience on multi‑discipline engineering projects
* Chartered accreditation or working toward status
* Consultancy experience
* Experience reviewing detailed designs and witnessing construction site activities
