BioMark is a specialist Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and Nutrient Neutrality (NN) provider based in York. We work with landowners to understand their ecological baseline, generate biodiversity units, sell credits to developers, and deliver long-term habitat management.
Our growing portfolio of habitat banks spans the North of England and Midlands, where we're creating meaningful, lasting biodiversity outcomes for landowners, developers and the environment alike.
We're a small, friendly team at an exciting stage of growth operating at the forefront of the environmental land management sector and looking for passionate people to grow with us.

BioMark is looking for an Ecologist and Habitat Implementation Manager to join our team as we scale the delivery of off-site Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) units across the North of England and Midlands.
This is a varied role for someone who thrives both at the desk and in the field. You'll bring precision and attention to detail to producing high-quality BNG reports including Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans (HMMPs) and baseline surveys while also getting out on site to oversee the creation of thriving habitats on the ground.

* Produce accurate, high-quality BNG reports including HMMPs and baseline habitat surveys
* Coordinate inputs to progress sites through registration, working with landowners and Responsible Bodies
* Manage timelines to ensure units are secured efficiently
* Maintain detailed records of site status, unit availability and constraints
Field & habitat operations (approx. 50%)
* Oversee contractors delivering habitat creation and enhancement works
* Ensure delivery aligns with HMMPs and meets required standards
* Act as BioMark's on-site representative, building strong relationships with landowners and contractors
* Monitor habitat establishment and coordinate ongoing management to keep sites on track
If you're an ecologist who loves the detail of good report writing but equally relishes pulling on your boots to see real biodiversity outcomes take shape, we'd love to hear from you
Education and Experience
* ACIEEM or MCIEEM membership highly desirable
* Relevant ecological degree (2:1 or above) preferred
* 2–3 years' experience in a related industry role
Personal Skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Confident collaborating with contractors across farming and landscaping services
What You'll Gain
* Hands-on experience in a growing, agile company at the forefront of BNG delivery
* Opportunities to develop key skills in report writing, project management and stakeholder engagement
* The chance to build connections across the ecology and land management sectors, working alongside experienced professionals, landowners and partners
