We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse for the Private Patient Outpatient and Supportive Infusion Unit at the Royal Marsden in Chelsea. This is a full-time or part-time, permanent position with a 37.5 hour per week option as well as a 22.5 hour per week option. The role will not include night shifts or weekends.
You will need to be a 1st level registered nurse, with demonstrable oncology experience and experience in the administration of IV medications and chemotherapy. Intravenous cannulation and venepuncture are desirable; however full training will be provided.
In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, enthusiastic and an effective team member committed to providing the highest level of service for our patients.

Responsibilities
* Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-led care to patients.
* Exercise clinical judgment and decision-making about patient needs in terms of long-term goals or plans.
* Participate in the day-to-day organization and running of clinical trials, including recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a trial, and liaison with trial sponsors as required.
* Assume personal accountability for nursing care delivered to a patient in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
* Promote a safe clinical environment for patients, visitors and staff.
* Participate in Trust initiatives around infection control and care quality indicators.
* Be aware of hospital policies and procedures and collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure adherence.
* Help foster a supportive working environment and maintain staff morale.
Qualifications and Requirements
* 1st Level Registered Nurse with demonstrable Oncology experience.
* Experience in administration of IV medications and chemotherapy.
* Desirable: IV cannulation and venepuncture (training provided).
The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for assisting the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse in managing the clinical environment and shifts, including team development and leadership at the Senior Staff Nurse level.
