Job Title: Security Administration Officer
Location: Reading (Full‑time onsite)
Remuneration: £175.00 Per Day
Our Client is seeking a Security Administration Officer to support its UK Public Sector business, based full‑time onsite in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, detail‑driven administrator to play a critical role within a secure environment and work as part of a highly engaged security team.
Role Overview
The Security Administration Officer will support personnel security activities while also delivering essential day‑to‑day administrative support to ensure the smooth running of a secure facility. You will act as a key point of contact for security matters, working independently and confidently in a small onsite team.
The role is based in Reading, with occasional travel to the London office if required. All activities must be carried out in line with UK Government security policies, processes, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Process BPSS and SC vetting applications, supporting the Personnel Security Controller with vetting administration
* Deliver a range of reactive and operational security‑related administrative tasks
* Act as the primary security point of contact for staff, users, and visitors
* Monitor and manage security and vetting group mailboxes
* Verify the compliant and legitimate use of the secure facility
* Support the secure use of the facility for classified engagements
* Escort contractors during maintenance and related activities
* Assist with security audits, inspections, and reviews
Essential Skills & Experience
* Strong administrative experience in a business or office environment
* Confident working independently in a secure facility
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and highly organised
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgement when handling confidential information
* Strong Microsoft 365 skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
* Able to manage ambiguity, prioritise workload, and respond to ad‑hoc tasks confidently
Desirable Experience
* Knowledge of the UK Public Sector, Defence, or Government environments
* Familiarity with the UK National Vetting System
* CRM or general office systems experience
