About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You’ll play a vital role in creating a nurturing, positive, and stimulating learning environment where every child can succeed.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering engaging learning activities.
• Use strategies to promote independence, confidence, and emotional well-being.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing updates with staff and parents.
• Help create an inclusive classroom where every child feels valued and safe.

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEN or primary setting.
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Resilience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different needs.
