Role Overview
Reporting to the Site Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and guidance of the technical team across all departments. Ensuring the team complies with Morrisons Manufacturing / site technical standards and procedures under the guidance of the Site Technical Manager. Your tasks will include:
1. Delivering food safety, legality, quality, and integrity for all our customers and brands, along with ensuring all procedures and practices comply with legal, BRC, and MMS requirements.
2. Investigating and reporting adverse microbiological results.
3. Managing product information through the M-create portal.
4. Taking responsibility for the site HACCP Plan.
5. Supporting and advising colleagues on technical issues.
6. Developing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with technical policies and procedures applicable to the site.
7. Proactively managing site trends and risks.
8. Playing an active role in achieving site accreditations where applicable.
9. Managing the site internal audit process, process validations, and maintaining document control.
10. Collating site information for reports weekly, monthly, and yearly.
About You
In addition to working effectively at pace, you will need:
* Relevant experience or a degree in science, food technology, chemistry, microbiology, engineering, manufacturing, or business.
* Knowledge of safety, legality, compliance, and quality across the supply chain and produce range.
* Previous experience or knowledge of high-risk environments, including thermal processing.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication skills and a solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
* A proven track record in people management and delivering results through a team.
* A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
