Overview
The community dietetic service is a successful and proactive team of dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners covering the three inner boroughs of London (Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham). We are passionate and strive to bring quality and access to evidence based dietetic practice to the people who use our services. You will be part of a highly skilled and expanding specialist team. The team also has links with several other dietetic services across the Trust to share learning and development opportunities. The post holder will be required to support the dietitians in relation to the Nutrition Support and Gastroenterology care pathways. Time management, a team player and good communication and organisational skills are essential. Our team purpose statement: \'We are committed to enabling our patients to achieve their nutrition and hydration goals through providing evidence-based dietetic care\' The team is predominantly hybrid working, meets face to face once a month and virtually weekly. The postholder will join a wider network of Dietitians and Dietetic Assistant Practitioners across the Trust. There is a strong emphasis on learning and development. The position is 4 days or 30 hours per week for 9 months on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. The service is based at Lisson Grove Health Centre. This Trust is continuing to encourage agile working.
You will provide clinical and administrative assistance and support to the Nutrition and Dietetics Team. You will manage a caseload of patients in the community which includes managing referrals that have been triaged by the service and travelling to patient\'s homes. You will work independently under the supervision of Specialist Dietitians to support the development and delivery of the Nutrition Support and Gastroenterology Services. You will work within an agreed framework for dealing with routine and urgent clinical problems/interactions, and seeking guidance from the Dietitians to agree action outside the framework. You will be supporting student training. We will support you to actively participate in clinical supervision, continuous professional development, and the development of leadership skills.
