About the Role

* An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safeguarding Business Support Team Leader within the Children & Young People’s Directorate. This is a varied and fast‑paced role where no two days are the same. You will lead a team of Business Support staff, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, confidential, and responsive administrative service that supports safeguarding functions across the Council.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide day‑to‑day line management and supervision of Business Support staff
* Ensure a reliable, efficient, and confidential business support service is delivered
* Manage workloads and priorities to meet service demands
* Support the recruitment, training, and development of staff
* Work closely with Business Support Managers to improve systems and processes
* Respond to urgent requests and changing service needs effectively
* Liaise with internal departments and stakeholders across the Council
* Accurately record and produce minutes for meetings within tight deadlines

* To demonstrate excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* To communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
* To remain calm, flexible, and responsive under pressure
* To maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* To provide excellent customer care at all times
