About the Role
The Engineering Manager, Humber Gateway Windfarm, provides strategic direction on engineering and maintenance to the site team, building the site's competence in technical performance of the operational assets, development and reporting of business critical KPIs, managing plant modifications and engineering issues, managing the engineering function, and supporting business planning and line administration.
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership for all site engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring long‑term asset integrity, availability and revenue optimisation.
* Develop and deliver the site engineering strategy aligned to the business plan, including in‑house maintenance strategies and ad hoc campaigns.
* Lead, coach and develop an engineering team (5 direct reports), promoting a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
* Own and manage multi‑million‑pound engineering and maintenance budgets, ensuring effective cost control and CAPEX planning.
* Act as Site Contract Officer, overseeing engineering contracts, project delivery, contractor performance, and warranty negotiation.
* Continuously manage technical and operational risks, ensuring compliance with HSSE legislation, internal policies and statutory requirements.
* Implement and optimise asset management systems, including CMMS/SAP, to enhance KPI reporting, maintenance planning and performance tracking.
* Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, collaborating with Production, HSE, Finance, Central Engineering and JV partners to deliver the site business plan.
Requirements & Experience
* Degree‑qualified in Engineering (or equivalent) with extensive experience in engineering asset operations, within offshore wind or a similar heavy industry.
* Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams in offshore wind, marine, or comparable asset‑intensive environments.
* Extensive background in plant maintenance, engineering project delivery, and lifecycle asset integrity management.
* Extensive contract management experience covering commercial, technical and safety aspects.
* In‑depth knowledge of HSSE legislation and standards; NEBOSH/IOSH qualification.
* Experience implementing and managing CMMS/SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
* Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across site, corporate and JV environments.
* Professional registration (or working towards) with the Engineering Council and willingness to travel across UK and overseas sites as required.
