Job title: Design and Technology Technician (maternity cover)

Salary: Scale 3 (5-6) (£25,586-£25,989) pro rata for term time only working + 4hrs pw on Unq teacher scale 1 (£22,601) pro rata, for teacher support
Hours: 37 hrs pw, term time only plus the school training days

Who we are looking for:
We are seeking to appoint a design and technology technician to work at King Charles I School, part of Four Stones Gateway Trust. This post is for 37 hrs per week, term-time only plus the school training days and is to cover a period of maternity leave from September 2026.
For 33 hrs pw you will work as a member of a team providing practical support and advice to teaching and learning in the technology department. In addition, for 4 hrs of the week, you will provide teaching support to GCSE practical catering classes.
You will have:
Our successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
A basic understanding of health and safety in a workshop/food environment.
Ability to prepare and test tools/equipment and practical work for use in lessons.
Good IT, numeracy and literacy skills.
Willingness to undertake further professional development.
Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students.
Appropriate knowledge of first aid.
