We are looking for an experienced Category Manager, who has a passion to enhance their career, stays on top of the latest trends, and wants to drive growth in this dynamic space. This role is based on-site in Christchurch.
As a Category Manager, you’ll develop category strategies that keep us ahead of trends, source exciting new products, and build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best pricing and selection.
What you will be doing
* Develop& Implement Category Strategies: Shape and executestrategies that align with market trends and customer demand.
* ProductTrends & Market Analysis: Stay ahead of thelatest trends, analyse competitor activity, and track product performance.
* SupplierRelationships: Build and manage relationships with keysuppliers to negotiate the best deals and ensure timely delivery.
* ProductAssortment & Pricing: Curate an exciting andtrend-forward product range while maintaining competitive pricing andprofitability.
* Promotions& Campaigns: Collaborate with the Marketing team todesign and execute promotional campaigns that drive sales and build brandawareness.
* SalesPerformance Monitoring: Regularly analyse sales data toidentify growth opportunities and optimise product categories.
* Testingand trailing the newest products: Determine how to drivethe strategy and bring the latest products to market.
What you bring to the role
* Strongnegotiation and relationship management skills with suppliers.
* Abilityto interpret market insights and drive category growth.
* Excellentcommunication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functionalteams.
* Commercialacumen, with proficiency in Excel and inventory management systems.
* Experiencein large-scale buying is highly regarded.
* Familiaritywith NetSuite and TONIQ software is a bonus.
