Job summary Closing date: 01.06.26 Shortlisting to commence: 02.06.26 Interviews to take place: 11.06.26 Lead the re-imagining of the Acute Oncology Service at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, including upskilling the existing workforce, establishing a new service model and workforce structure, and overseeing service transition as the Trust moves away from an oncology inpatient bed base in line with the Non Surgical Oncology (NSO) program. Main duties of the job Lead nursing and other non-medical practice across the Acute Oncology Service.Work with Matrons, Lead Cancer Nurse's (LCN) and clinical educators, supporting on educational development for nursing and the multi-professional workforce across the Acute Oncology Service. Where necessary in the absence of Matron or Deputy Nurse Director, provide operational support within the Oncology Service. Provide leadership advice and support on clinical governance issues, including clinical and non-clinical risk assessment and management. Person Specification Experience Essential Substantial post qualification experience in Oncology. Minimum 2 years' experience working in acute oncology at an advanced level at a minimum of an 8a or above Successful completion of core and relevant specialist competencies including SACT competencies. Substantial leadership experience including direct line management at a minimum of band 7 level Evidence of service improvement. Evidence of named participation in published research, audit and service evaluation. Evidence of practice development and teaching experience Experience of writing business cases Desirable Familiarity with SACT prescribing. Evidence of delivery of education at local, regional and national level.
