 
        
        Join Birmingham City Council as a Business Support Co‑ordinator. In this full‑time, permanent role you will play an integral part of the council’s governance, complaints, and business planning functions.
Grade 4 – £34,434 to £41,771 per annum
Living Wage Employer – all roles below the Living Wage are paid at the rate specified.
Consultation grade – subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review.
Working hours – 36.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
 * Governance & Compliance – provide advice and support for political governance, Freedom of Information (FOI), and Subject Access Requests (SAR).
 * Complaints & Service Improvement – coordinate Ombudsman enquiries, complaints, FOI, EIR, and other customer‑related matters.
 * Business Planning & Performance – support the council‑wide business planning process and collate performance measures to evidence progress against the agreed plan.
The role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent time‑management skills, a team‑working ethic, and a ‘can‑do’ attitude. You will work in a fast‑paced, sometimes demanding environment and be expected to manage conflicting priorities within tight timescales.
Qualifications & Experience
• Adaptable and self‑motivated with experience of coordinating governance, complaints, and performance processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and willingness to be flexible.
• Experience working within tight timescales and managing conflicting priorities.
Every day is different in this role. You will support three key areas and work closely with colleagues across the council from frontline managers to finance and programme teams to ensure smooth coordination and effective delivery.
This is a full‑time role where you will be required to work in a hybrid way, supporting a blend of in‑office and remote working, dependent on business need.
