Overview
Working as part of a team, you will contribute to the overall operational, performance and service standard targets across your area of work. You will progress cases through the court/tribunal system and provide administrative support to functions within HMCTS. You will have regular contact with court/tribunal users, which could include members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. You will be adaptable, able to multi-task and effectively carry out a variety of duties.
Responsibilities
* Preparing paper and digital files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings which may include some manual handling.
* Administration of Cloud Video Platform hearings.
* Ushering / Clerking; Judicial Liaison including set up and use of video hearing equipment.
* Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input.
* Resulting courts accurately, interpreting accurately the information required on a court file.
* Checking and verifying documents, records, accounts, claims and returns for approval, results, statistics, plans etc. against criteria, regulations or procedures.
* Collecting and assembling information for returns, results, accounts, statements, warrants, statistical analysis, reports, etc.
* Communicating with the Public, the Judiciary, other Court and Tribunal Users and Representatives of other Agencies and Organisations.
Skills and Qualifications
* Friendly, approachable manner with good written and verbal communication skills; ability to deliver proactive and effective support to customers by phone and email.
* Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise, multi-task and adapt to using various software packages.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and helping court users navigate the justice system.
Working Arrangements
These operational roles are customer facing and will be office-based to provide HMCTS services to the public. Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week. HMCTS welcomes part-time, flexible and job-sharing patterns where they meet the role and business needs. Hybrid working arrangements may apply where business needs allow, with a minimum of 60% time in an office unless stated otherwise. Arrangements are discussed and agreed with the successful candidate and reviewed regularly.
For nationally advertised roles: appointments will be to the nearest viable office to the candidate’s home postcode, at a HQ building, Justice Collaboration Centre (JCC) or Justice Satellite Office (JSO) as applicable.
Additional Information
Occasional travel to other Courts and HMCTS sites within Kent and London may be required; travel expenses are paid per organisational policy.
