Our client is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and fast-paced finance team based in Aylesford. This is a full-time, office-based role offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or continue their finance career within a supportive business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process purchase invoices daily, matching to purchase orders where applicable
• Prepare weekly and ad-hoc payment runs across both businesses
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries and discrepancies
• Assist with supplier statement reconciliations
• Process daily cashbooks for multiple bank accounts, including foreign currency
• Reconcile petty cash and ensure accurate records
• Process and allocate customer card payments
• Prepare and send monthly direct debit collection letters
• Raise sales invoices for account customers in the retail store
• Reconcile daily store takings against till reports and prepare for banking
• Assist with year-end audit preparation
• Support ongoing process improvement projects within the finance function
• Provide cover for the Financial Controller and support general finance tasks during periods of leave or absence
Candidate Profile:
• Qualified or part-qualified AAT
• Strong communication and numerical skills
• Good understanding of accounting principles and finance systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and learning
• Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage) desirable
