Job Summary
Due to the retirement of a colleague, we are keen to strengthen our team with an enthusiastic salaried doctor to cover 6 sessions per week and has a particular interest in teaching and supervising medical students.
The successful applicant would be required to work a full day on a Monday with flexibility available for the remaining sessions.
Responsibilities
* Deliver highly effective medical care to the practice population.
* Provide services commensurate with the GMS contract.
* Prescribe generically in accordance with local and national guidance.
* Support highly skilled nurses in the effective management of long‑term conditions.
* Process administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated tasks.
* Maintain accurate clinical records in line with good practice, policy and guidance.
* Work collaboratively, sharing a fair and equal workload with the other salaried GPs (pro‑rata arrangements where applicable).
* Adhere to best practice recommendations through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
* Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
* Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required.
* Ensure compliance with the in‑house appraisal process.
* Commit to self‑learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
* Support the training of medical students.
* Support the partners in achieving strategic aims, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure.
* Promote collaborative working and a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Highly skilled and compassionate medical professional committed to delivering excellent primary care within the NHS framework.
* Medical degree: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
* Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a current Licence to Practice.
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice or Certificate Confirming Eligibility for GP Registration (CEGPR).
* Included on the National Medical Performers List.
Desirable
* Familiarity with the use of SystmOne, ICE and Microsoft Office.
