Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our team, within a 30 room family run hotel. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef by overseeing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food service. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to develop leadership skills within a reputable hospitality environment. Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow during service periods.
* Supervise and motivate kitchen kitchen assistants & service team fostering a positive and efficient working environment.
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards across all dishes.
* Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
* Collaborate with the team to develop new menu items and improve existing recipes, maintaining culinary excellence.
* Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and minimise wastage through effective stock control.
* Support training programmes
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area in compliance with health & safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience within a professional kitchen or restaurant environment.
* Extensive experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation.
* Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a small team effectively.
* Excellent understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
* Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times.

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
