Job Description
The Role & Responsibilities:
* Lead structural engineering activities within multi-discipline EPCM projects for the chemical and petrochemical industry.
* Support the procurement team in translating detailed structural steel design packages into procurement packages.
* Liaise with client engineering team to develop packages of work.
* Undertake technical bid evaluations from steel work fabricators.
* Work with steelwork fabricators to develop technical queries to the client & Principal Design Engineer.
* Represent the business in meetings with stakeholders.
* Carry out supplier quality audits at selected steel work fabrication shops.
* Responsible for ensuring the overall quality & accuracy of the steel work erection programme on site.
Required experience & Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience working in a structural engineering role.
* Good knowledge of project engineering and site interfaces.
* HND / BSc / BEng / MSc in Mechanical, Civil or Structural engineering.
* Ability to lead on multiple packages of work.
* Result oriented, you will take personal accountability for results and monitor performance against project delivery objectives and UK/European Standards & Regulations.
* Able to collaborate successfully with others in pursuit of business goals, adapting quickly to different styles and roles and encouraging others to contribute.
* Able to identify any impact to the project delivery objectives and apply change management accordingly.
* Strive to continuous improvement, generating new ideas for improving performance.
* Leading on safety with ability to author and approve RAMS.
