Overview
Relief Support for Learning Assistant, Uist & Barra (3100) — £15.38 per hour, inclusive of £1.48 per hour Distant Islands Allowance. This post provides support for children with additional support needs. Duties include: working in mainstream classes, assisting pupils with school work, under the direction of the class teacher; supervision of children at intervals and lunch breaks; assisting in the management of children and young people with behavioural difficulties.

* Assisting in the management of children and young people with behavioural difficulties.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience of working with children, as a parent or in a voluntary or professional capacity.
* An understanding of the basic needs of children.
* The ability to co-operate with others and work effectively as a member of a team.
* A patient, cheerful personality with a flexible, open and caring approach.
* This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme as a legal requirement of a regulated role with Children.
Working Pattern
This post is on an as and when basis to cover absences of permanent staff. Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance.
