The Focus of the Role:
Can you commission the next viral essay? Are you brimming with original ideas and fresh takes - and can you turn them into features that will get people talking, thinking and sharing across multiple platforms? Do you have an innate understanding of what matters to Grazia’s AB1 female audience?
We’re recruiting for a Features Editor to join our GRAZIA team! It’s an exciting role for someone with the energy and organisation to run our Features desk, commissioning and editing all features content, from powerful first-person stories and hard-hitting reports, to smart, funny takes on social trends, modern relationships and today’s workplace.
This role comes with a hybrid working model, meaning you’ll be working from our London office 3 days per week (Tues – Thurs) and the rest working from home.
Our Team:
GRAZIA is Britain’s go-to glossy for luxury fashion, agenda-setting features, and exclusive A-list access. With a new issue every fortnight, we’re a fast-paced, creatively driven team with bold ambitions and a vibrant culture to match. Our office is buzzing with energy - collaboration thrives in person.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, commission and edit all Features copy in print - covering Features slots in 10 Hot Stories, and the main Features section - ensuring you achieve Grazia’s unique mix of content.
2. Think visually and cross-platform, liaising with the Picture, Art and Social teams to bring stories to life.
3. Pitch and execute social-first content, commissioning shareable pieces that will drive engagement.
4. Work with a wide-range of external freelance writers, in the UK and abroad, continually expanding our pool of contributors and finding exciting new voices.
5. Manage the features writer, pro-actively nurturing and developing their skills. Work with them to implement a thorough forward planning system so coverage opportunities are not missed.
What You’ll Bring:
6. Proven experience of commissioning and editing high quality, original features.
7. Excellent organisation skills to handle three key workflows: reactive digital stories, a fortnightly print cycle and longer-term ‘blue sky’ projects.
8. Lots of ideas - for both stories and writers we should use - as someone who consumes a wide range of media, can spot a trend, and is tapped into the latest talking points.
9. Confidence pitching to and collaborating with senior members of staff.
