They work closely with clients to ensure compliance with employment law and tax requirements, offering guidance on employment contracts, employee benefits, payroll taxes, and helping organizations mitigate legal risks and optimize tax strategies.
The Employment Tax, Incentives, and Payroll (ETIP) team is a part of our wider Tax and Legal practice within the Workforce team. This team provides advice and support to manage organizational and people challenges, delivering tailored solutions to each client.
As a member of the ETIP team, you'll help clients ensure correct employee payments and tax compliance. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career by supporting corporate clients in solving complex issues and advising on governance related to tax and payroll.
The role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the ETIP team as an Employment Tax adviser. You will advise management teams across various sectors, including UK-listed (PLC and AIM) and unlisted (family, private equity-backed) businesses. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Advising on employment taxes and social security compliance for remuneration packages based on UK legislation
* Providing international employment tax advice, coordinating global advice, and advising on international moves
* Guiding clients on paying staff in accordance with UK legislation, including minimum wage and holiday pay
* Assisting in establishing benefit structures and salary sacrifice arrangements
* Advising on off-payroll worker engagement and governance structures
* Guiding on the application of the Construction Industry Scheme
* Helping clients develop internal governance for employment taxes and pay regulations
* Supporting clients with HMRC enquiries and disclosures
* Managing client relationships, risk processes, billing, and cash collection
* Training team members
Essential skills and experience:
* Experience in employment taxes, either in-house or in consultancy
* Qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, ATT (desirable)
* Time management skills
* Ability to deliver clear, bespoke advice
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
* Excellent report writing skills
