Shield Safety | Manchester (Hybrid) | Permanent, Full time Why this role exists We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner to join a high performing Product team. This is an opportunity for someone who brings depth, confidence, and a genuine growth mindset to help drive product excellence across a complex and fast moving portfolio. You’ll play a central role in shaping our software for global growth, including evolving Safe to Trade into RiskProof and scaling RiskProof internationally, while contributing to the company’s long term growth strategy. Key Responsibilities Lead end to end product discovery, from rapid assessments through to deeper, structured investigations Facilitate and run effective workshops, ensuring clarity, direction, and meaningful outcomes Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, building trust through transparent decision making, clear communication, and collaboration with Engineering and Software teams Demonstrate proactive ownership through concise updates, solution led thinking, and confident leadership, maintaining agility and independent problem solving throughout Champion strong product behaviours within a collaborative team of established Product Owners Motivate your peers and cross functional partners, helping the wider organisation deliver value efficiently and consistently Encourage and contribute to a culture that avoids blame, stays proactive, and maintains constructive communication with customers even in challenging situations Work with your own development team, taking ownership and responsibility for the modules you own You’ll likely be a great match if you can demonstrate Product direction and outcomes You can explain vision and goals, make trade offs, and connect delivery to outcomes and metrics Strong discovery craft You run discovery, reduce risk, and convert insights into a roadmap teams can execute User and customer understanding You speak with real empathy, use research and insights, and can articulate users and jobs to be done Collaborative product leadership You work effectively with peers, contribute to shared ways of working, and take pride in strong product behaviours across the team Practical use of AI You use AI tools as part of your day to day product work to support discovery, decision making, and delivery Requirements Proven experience as a Product Owner or Senior Product Owner in a structured delivery environment, with a demonstrable record of achievement Strong facilitation, communication, and leadership skills Confidence owning complex problem spaces and driving forward clear, actionable solutions Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with Engineering teams Commitment to personal and team growth, continuous learning, and reflective practice Hands on approach, comfortable using AI tools and strategies in daily work Resilience, professionalism, and the ability to operate in a fast paced environment Ability to balance structured processes with independent thinking and creative problem solving About Shield Safety (RiskProof) Shield Safety is a UK leading Environmental Health Consultancy trusted for over 20 years to help businesses stay compliant, operate efficiently, and keep people safe.
