About Waythrough

Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.

Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the role:

Do you have an understanding of mental health issues or experience of working in mental health? Would you like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with? Welcome to Waythrough as a Crisis Recovery Worker.

Your challenge? To manage the service’s resources and monitor, develop and share good practice across staff teams to ensure everyone is better equipped to work with a greater range of challenging support needs. We’ll also rely on you to provide high quality support to clients, build positive relationships with multi-disciplinary organisations and make sure that data entry onto our reporting system is accurate and timely.

You will be solution focused and outcome driven, you’re great at leading, supervising and motivating others using tact and diplomacy and a firm but inclusive, open style of working. You also have a flair for managing conflicting demands and priorities and a flexible attitude to working hours. A proven track record in a mental health care setting is, of course key, as is a good understanding of recovery and coproduction and experience of carrying out investigations and writing reports and recommendations. You will need to be a great listener, with a flexible approach and a flair for planning and prioritising a busy workload. You will enjoy motivating and engaging people in a range of developmental interventions and activities. What’s more, you will have a good understanding of mental health issues and how they affect people and their loved ones.
