Are you a dynamic and experienced Physiotherapist looking for a challenging and rewarding role in the field of acute medicine & frailty?
We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist with skills in patient assessment and discharge planning, who will:
1. Provide clinical leadership for junior and support staff, through supervision and appraisal as delegated by supervisor.
2. Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including a 7-day shift pattern travel between SBU Health Board sites as required to support service delivery, with extended working hours covering 365 days of the year, contribute to the on-call rota
3. Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Swansea Bay Physiotherapy Service. Regularly supervise Physiotherapy students on practice placements, and other students e.g. Work Experience.
4. Participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in developmental activities. Lead the learning and development of the clinical staff within area of expertise.
Main duties of the job
Management
5. Participate in the induction, training and education of student and junior staff
6. Ensure good personal time management, punctuality and consistent reliable attendance.
Clinical
7. Clinically competent to assess, advise and treat patients presenting with a wide variety of conditions, including chronic and complex presentations.
8. Support junior staff in developing their clinical reasoning, assessment and delivery of physiotherapy
9. To participate in the Respiratory on-call service
Professional
10. Demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical governance and ensure its application to the delivery of physiotherapy
Service Delivery
11. Follow Health board, Directorate, Physiotherapy Service and professional policies, protocols and guidelines.
Leadership
12. Understand the influence of national and local Health, Social Care and Well Being Strategies on local physiotherapy Practice.
13. Demonstrate a compassionate leadership approach.
Education & Training
14. Co-ordinate the activities of team members including more junior & support staff in the treatment of clients within area.
Information Resources
15. Undertake audit of clinical information using research methodology, ensure safe appropriate storage of confidential information within the setting.
Research and Development
16. Assist in the planning, evaluation and audit of practice, clinical pathways and protocols.
17. Responsible for maintaining own CPD.

Essential criteria
18. Degree in Physiotherapy (or other relevant qualification)
19. Professional Registration with HCPC
20. •Evidence of post-graduate masters level education or evidence of equivalent clinical experience.
Desirable criteria
21. Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
22. Membership of a clinical or professional network
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
23. Substantial broad range specialist experience of working with this client group.
24. Substantial experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
25. Supervision experience of students, physiotherapy assistants and junior staff.
26. Experience in working in areas that are linked to patient flow.
27. Remain updated with advanced professional practice and new research.
28. Understand the legal responsibilities of the profession.
29. Significant NHS experience
