Plumbing & Water Systems | UK Manufacturer

A well-established UK manufacturer operating at the heart of the plumbing, heating and water systems sector is seeking a commercially focused Managing Director to lead the next phase of its growth.
Supplying high-quality, technically credible products into UK plumbing merchants, distributors and trade channels, the business has built a strong reputation over many years through product reliability, manufacturing capability and deep industry relationships.
With solid operational foundations already in place, the company is now looking for a Managing Director who understands how to win in trade-led markets, someone able to accelerate growth through strong channel strategy, deep merchant engagement and sharp commercial execution.
This is a leadership opportunity for an individual who has built their career around plumbing products, building services or water-related systems and who understands the commercial dynamics of merchant networks and distribution.
The role:
Reporting to the board and holding P&L responsibility, you will lead the commercial agenda of the business, strengthening its position across plumbing merchants, distributors and trade partners.
Key priorities will include:
* Developing deeper relationships with national and regional plumbing merchants and distributors
* Driving revenue growth through clearer channel focus, pricing strategy and customer development
* Leading and developing a sales-led leadership team
* Translating technical product capability into clear, compelling commercial propositions
* Acting as the senior commercial face of the business with key customers and industry stakeholders
The business already has a stable operational platform and experienced management team; the focus of the role is accelerating commercial momentum and market penetration.
The person:
You will likely come from a Sales Director, Commercial Director or Managing Director background within plumbing products, building services, water systems or related sectors.
You will bring:
* A strong track record of working with UK plumbing merchants, distributors or trade channels
* Experience selling manufactured products into the building services market
* A commercially driven leadership style with the credibility to operate at board and customer level
* A clear understanding of how trade-led markets operate
