Job Title: Risk Manager, The Rinks
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. The starting pay depends on various factors including location, experience, education, and organizational considerations.
The Risk Manager reports to the General Counsel and collaborates with the legal and risk departments of the parent company. Responsibilities include managing risk activities for The Rinks Foundation and Irvine Ice Foundation, developing mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance, and analyzing risks across all locations. The role involves conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
1. Manage, plan, and coordinate programs to control risks and losses
2. Collaborate with the parent company's risk management team to develop effective reporting and compliance programs
3. Identify, evaluate, and implement corrective actions for risks
4. Analyze risks based on frequency and severity, and measure financial impact
5. Coordinate and provide risk identification and avoidance training for team members
6. Recommend and implement risk management solutions such as safety policies
7. Draft and present risk reports to leadership and parent company
8. Develop loss control programs and training to minimize risks
9. Assist with contract reviews, including insurance and indemnification clauses
10. Conduct safety audits and incident investigations
11. Develop and implement safety procedures and training
12. Manage insurance certificates and work with brokers
13. Maintain documentation related to policies, claims, and certificates
14. Participate in claims reviews with insurance professionals
15. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety standards
16. Develop health and safety training programs
17. Coordinate with legal and risk teams on high-exposure claims and contracts
18. Report to General Counsel on claims and risk activities
19. Perform other duties as assigned
Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CRM certification a plus
* 5+ years of relevant experience
* Experience with ice rinks or arenas preferred
* Decision-making skills in ad hoc situations
* Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and in teams
* Confidentiality and tact in sensitive situations
