We're Hiring: Assistant Site Engineer (OHL) – Power T&D

We are looking for an Assistant Site Engineer (Overhead Lines – OHL) to join our Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team, supporting works at:
Location
Crescent Industrial Estate, Station Rd,
Nursling, Southampton SO16 0YD
What you'll be doing
* Attend periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in
accordance with GBL
- Maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.)
- Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
- Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles
- Helps to ensure reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost
effective decisions in line with overall strategy
- Helps to ensure scope and package assignment supports the team in
coordinated working
- Awareness of discipline
- Setting out awareness
- Learning how to read technical information and drawings
- Numerical skills
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in
legislation
- Partially responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees
and supply chain
- Support periodic Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety
initiatives
- Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and suggest
improvement solutions
- Awareness of welfare requirements
- Read and understand RAMS
- Identifying, raising and reporting risks and hazards
- Incident response, H&S response
- Understand competencies
- Reinforce golden rules
- Help to update resource allocation plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests
- Motivate and empower other sharing resources available through training

Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Experience in implementing safe systems of work
* Experience in managing risks and change processes
* Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts
* Proficient in commercial/project management communications
* Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the
organisation
- Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at
all levels across the business and be able to negotiate and influence
- Able to undertake work in high pressure situations with a flexible attitude
- A record of a solutions-based approach to problem solving
- Demonstrate awareness and support of the benefits of diversity and inclusion

The following qualities/experience are desirable:
* Experience of working on a variety of project types
* Proficient on O365
* Holds a current driving license
The role holder is likely to have one or more of the following:
* Holds or working towards a formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in
management/construction or experience equivalent
- Holds CSCS and SSSTS or Equivalent
