📍 This role is field-based with regular travel to our Blackpool, Skipton, and Manchester offices as well as client offices.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to spearhead the growth of Perch Group’s Contingent and Field Services offering. This is a strategic opportunity to scale a fast-growing area of the business that plays a vital role in our debt recovery and customer engagement ecosystem.
You will lead commercial efforts across our contingent collections and field services propositions, focusing on acquiring new clients across sectors such as commercial/SME, financial services, utilities, retail, and telecommunications. Working closely with the MD’s of the group functions and the Commercial Director, you'll shape the commercial vision and secure long-term client partnerships that support our broader Group strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead new business development activity for Contingent Collections and Field Services, driving lead generation, prospecting, and client acquisition.
* Define and execute go-to-market strategies for both services, tailoring value propositions to meet sector-specific needs.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers across multiple industries.
* Represent the Perch Group in client meetings and industry events as a subject matter expert in field and contingent recovery.
* Support bid and tender processes, including pricing, contract structuring, and client onboarding.
* Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure alignment between service delivery and client expectations.
* Identify opportunities for cross-selling other Perch Group solutions, including Debt Purchase and Customer Contact services.
* Provide regular reporting, forecasting, and market insights to support strategic decision-making.
* Travel frequently across the Northwest and UK for client meetings, presentations, and site visits.
Required Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Proven track record in a business development or sales role within contingent collections, field services, or related sectors.
* Strong commercial insight and the ability to develop and deliver tailored client proposals.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
* Highly self-motivated and independent, with the ability to thrive in a field-based role.
* Comfortable working across different locations and travelling regularly within the UK.
Desirable:
* Established network within financial services, retail, utilities, or telecoms.
* Knowledge of debt recovery regulations and compliance frameworks.
* Experience integrating third-party services within complex client environments.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and reporting tools.
