Job Summary.
We are seeking a professional and friendly Optical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. This role requires strong organisational skills, good attention to detail and a desire to help patients with the selection and fitting of spectacles.
Responsibilities.
* Reception & Customer Service: Greet and assist patients, manage telephone and email enquiries, and schedule appointments.
* Product Advice & Sales: Advise on suitable frames, lenses, coatings, and accessories based on individual needs. Ensure the correct fitting and adjustment of frames.
* Administration: Maintain accurate patient records, process orders and payments, and ensure data confidentiality.
* Aftercare: Provide guidance on caring for spectacles and contact lenses, and carry out minor repairs and adjustments.
* Promoting Eye Health: Share information and advice on eye health and the importance of regular check-ups
* Support team members with various practice-related tasks to enhance overall productivity.
What we are looking for.
* Proven experience in an optical role is preferred, but not essential and full training will be given.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and colleagues.
* A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and willingness to learn new skills.
* Competence in using standard office equipment and computerised systems.
