We have a full-time or part-time opportunity available within Oswestry for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing practice team.
Previous practice experience is essential.
The role
This is a varied and hands-on position, supporting a portfolio of clients and working closely with senior team members. The role will include:
Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns
Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Assisting with bookkeeping duties as required
Liaising with clients and responding to routine queries
Supporting managers with ad-hoc accounts and tax work
Working hours
Monday to Friday
8.30am – 5.00pm (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch)
Part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate
About you
Experience working within an accountancy practice
Good understanding of accounts preparation and basic tax compliance
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
Confident communicator, able to deal professionally with clients
Studying towards AAT / ACA / ACCA (or qualified by experience) would be advantageous but not essential
