You should possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills together with an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. An in depth knowledge of the current health agenda relating to children’s services is essential.

Working for our organisation

You will be joining a proactive skill mixed team working together to deliver the Healthy Child Programme As part of the 0- Service which includes Health Visiting and School nursing you will be working closely with other local statutory, health and voluntary agencies to provide accessible, person centred packages of care in response to individual and local need. You will be working in partnership with Knowsley Local Authority to take the local children’s agenda forward.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Applications are welcomed from both experienced and newly qualified nurses however some previous experience of working within a community environment would be beneficial. We have an established preceptorship programme in place and you will be well supported by your manager and colleagues and valued in your role. We offer opportunities for personal and professional development and you will receive regular appraisal, clinical and safeguarding supervision.

Essential criteria

11. Registered Nurse (Adult/Child)
12. Evidence of recent professional development

Desirable criteria

13. Mentorship Level 6
14. Modules at level 6 – Public Health Related
15. Solihull Approach trained
16. Motivational Interviewing trained
17. Immunisation training

Experience and knowledge

Essential criteria

18. Knowledge of Public Health Priorities
19. Knowledge of child development
20. Knowledge of safeguarding issues and working with vulnerable families.
21. Understanding of role within the Public Health Team

Desirable criteria

22. Two years post registration with months community experience
23. Experience of data collection for reports
24. Previous experience or working in a community environment
