Cover Supervisor (Secondary) – South Bristol
Protocol Education are looking for confident and proactive Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across South Bristol. You’ll step into classrooms when teachers are absent, delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and ensuring students stay engaged, supported, and on track with their learning.
This role is open to applicants from all backgrounds. Maybe you’ve worked with young people through youth work, coaching, or tutoring, or perhaps you’re a graduate considering a career in education. What matters most is your energy, presence,and ability to motivate students. If you can build rapport and keep a class focused, you’ll make a fantastic Cover Supervisor.
What the job looks like:
Supervising lessons across different subjects using pre-prepared resources
Managing classroom behaviour with warmth and consistency, following school policies
Encouraging students to stay on task and complete their work
Collecting and organising completed work for the classroom teacher
Reporting back on progress, engagement, and behaviour
About you:
Confident, resilient, and comfortable leading groups of students
Able to build positive relationships quickly and keep students motivated
Experience with young people (school-based or in another setting) is desirable, but not essential
Great communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
