We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Data Protection Compliance Officer to join our team based in Birmingham/London on a 12-month FTC for maternity cover. In this pivotal role, you will ensure our company adheres to the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection laws. Your efforts will be crucial in maintaining our commitment to data privacy and regulatory compliance. If you are passionate about data privacy and have a keen eye for regulatory compliance, we would love to hear from you! This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Key Accountabilities
1. Collaborative efforts and accountability
2. Providing expert advice on data privacy
3. Supporting data protection rights
4. Championing data protection policies
Requirements
* Relevant experience in a data protection role, ideally within the rail or public transport sector
* Good working knowledge of UK data protection legislation and best practices
* Ability to build strong working relationships and influence colleagues and external stakeholders
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to advise the business on compliance with relevant legislation
