Join HOPES CAP, Inc. as a Bus Driver/Custodian and play a key role in safely transporting children and staff and facility upkeep for our Early Childhood Program! As a Bus Driver/Custodian, you will be responsible for operating a school bus, ensuring the safe transportation of children and staff to and from school, field trips, and special events. You will also maintain compliance with all transportation regulations, help promote a secure and organized travel environment and maintain a clean, safe environment at our facilities. Key Responsibilities: Safely transport children to and from school, field trips, and program events Conduct pre- and post-trip bus inspections and maintain transportation records Ensure the bus is cleaned, fueled, and properly maintained Conduct emergency bus evacuation drills and safety training for children and staff Transport parents and children to health screenings and other appointments as needed Assist in training newly hired Bus Assistants and Substitute Bus Drivers Follow all safety regulations, program policies, and procedures Keep facilities clean, organized, and in good repair Qualifications: High school diploma 1 years of experience driving a school bus or multi-passenger vehicle Valid New Jersey CDL with endorsements for a 54-passenger school bus with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair Knowledge and understanding of regulations and standards applicable to NJ Motor Vehicle Commission Basic computer skills to allow access to email and be able to maintain communication within the agency.
