Overview
We are seeking an experienced Plumber to work on void social housing properties, carrying out a wide range of plumbing repairs, installations, and minor multi-trade works. This role is delivered on a temporary basis through an agency to support a contractor's voids and property turnaround programme.
You'll be responsible for bringing empty homes up to lettable standards, ensuring all plumbing systems are safe, functional, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out plumbing works within void social housing properties, including:
o Pipework repairs and replacements
o Installing or replacing taps, traps, wastes, and fixtures
o Fitting sinks, basins, baths, toilets, and showers
o Hot and cold water system repairs
o Fault finding and basic leak detection
* Perform light multi-trade tasks such as:
o Basic joinery (e.g., boxing in, bath panels)
o Minor patch plastering
o Silicone sealing and basic making good
* Ensure all work meets social housing and compliance standards.
* Work across multiple properties independently, managing workload and time effectively.
* Accurately record completed works, materials used, and any follow-on requirements.
* Maintain health & safety standards and ensure safe working practices at all times.
* Liaise professionally with housing staff and operatives when required.
Skills & Experience Required
* Demonstrable experience as a Plumber in domestic properties, ideally within social housing, voids, or responsive repairs environments.
* Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently.
* Ability to complete small multi-trade tasks as part of whole-property refurbishments.
* Understanding of void property turnaround requirements and compliance.
* High-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Requirements
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
* City & Guilds qualifications beneficial.
* Unvented/WRAS certification advantageous but not essential.
* CSCS Card preferred.
* Full UK Driving Licence may be required depending on the role.
* Own tools (some specialist equipment may be provided).
* Right to work in the UK.
