Job Description
Job purpose
We are seeking a motivated and charismatic individual to join our admissions team on a full-time basis. This role will primarily focus on student recruitment, particularly engaging with prospective students from countries in Africa and the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have sales experience, be willing to travel to African and Middle Eastern countries regularly, and be fluent in Arabic, with fluency in other languages being desirable.
Beyond recruitment, this role involves maintaining strong relationships with the students you have recruited, as well as their families, once they join Ashbourne. The successful candidate will help ensure a consistent cohort of 25 students from Africa and the Middle East at the college while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
About Ashbourne
Established over 40 years ago, Ashbourne has become one of the best private colleges for A levels in the UK. It distinguishes itself through exam results, individual attention, and facilities, aiming to be the best college overall for A levels in the UK.
Ethos and culture
At Ashbourne, there are no uniforms, no assemblies, no school dinners, and relations between teachers and students are informal, vital, and strong. This is encouraged by the lack of formality and the opportunities for engagement provided by small classes.
Ashbourne is a selective college; it reserves the right to deny students advancement if they haven't reached high academic standards. All students are expected to work hard and aim high, with a '100%' homework submission rule and a shared ethos of excellence.
About the College
Ashbourne is a sixth-form college where most students pursue A levels, seeking a more mature and responsible approach to education. The college offers a different, informal approach compared to traditional schools.
Academic performance is top-tier, often ranking first or second among private colleges in London and in the top 5% for value-added.
Small class sizes support individual attention, with personal tutors monitoring academic progress and supporting student wellbeing. The college emphasizes a supportive environment, strictly discouraging bad behavior and bullying.
Located near Kensington Gardens, Ashbourne offers a prime location with access to London's cultural opportunities. The community is diverse, with 70% British and up to 50 different nationalities, offering a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities, including Model United Nations, astrophysics, and arts festivals.
Students can engage in intensive 1-year and 18-month courses, with generous scholarships, especially in music and drama. The environment promotes happiness, support, and inclusivity, free from cliques and snobbery.
