Join to apply for the Advanced Specialist Practitioner: Colorectal Surgery role at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? A remarkable chance has arisen for an Advanced Specialist Practitioner to join our dynamic team of dedicated clinicians in Colorectal Surgery. This role offers a unique opportunity to utilise your advanced skills and knowledge to support patients throughout emergency and elective Colorectal surgical pathways, following Trust and speciality guidelines whilst being supported by registrar and consultant colleagues. This is a perfect opportunity for a qualified individual to work alongside a welcoming and supportive team. Could this be you?

In this role, you'll receive robust support to develop your clinical and leadership skills. We offer a tailor-made development programme designed to match your skill set and experience. You should be educated to master's level in Advanced Clinical Practice. You will benefit from the guidance of a supportive consultant mentor and the opportunity to develop specific competencies.

The role of Colorectal Advanced Specialist Practitioner is a pioneering position that we are proud to support.

You will play a vital role in the multidisciplinary care of Colorectal patients, collaborating closely with medical colleagues to oversee both elective and emergency surgical cases, from pre-operative assessments to post-operative recovery.

This position calls for a high level of advanced clinical expertise, where you'll be entrusted with making critical decisions and applying your professional judgement to ensure the best patient outcomes. Your skills and knowledge will be showcased through a portfolio of evidence and clinical competence, complemented by an appropriate MSc qualification.

You will be instrumental in driving improvements to care standards, ensuring adherence to Colorectal guidelines through supervision, clinical audits, and evidence-based practices. As a key leader, you’ll provide professional guidance to colleagues, nurturing a culture of excellence and supporting Physician Associates within the Colorectal service.

Your leadership will extend to championing the implementation of cutting-edge research, integrating new findings into practice and contributing to the growing body of evidence through research and audits. You'll also have a significant role in clinical governance, leading audits, attending strategic meetings, and participating in morbidity and mortality reviews to refine and elevate practice.

We have 10000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients. Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.

Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.

You’ll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you’d never have done. You’ll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.

You’ll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care and enhancing their experience which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of.
