Reed Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established business based in Redditch to recruit a Procurement Specialist. This is a key role within the supply chain function, focused on sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost efficiencies across the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all materials are procured strategically, meet quality standards, and support production timelines. This is a great opportunity for someone with procurement experience in a fast-paced environment who is looking to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the inbound supply of materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.
* Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new sourcing opportunities.
* Negotiate contracts and pricing to deliver best value and reduce total cost of ownership.
* Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement across the supply base.
* Collaborate with internal teams including production, technical, NPD, and warehousing to align procurement strategies with operational needs.
* Support new product development by sourcing materials and samples for trials.
* Maintain accurate records of supplier agreements and purchasing activity.
* Analyse market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with approved supplier lists and relevant standards.
What We’re Looking For:
* 2–4 years’ experience in procurement, ideally within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Understanding of logistics and inventory control.
* Familiarity with regulatory compliance and ERP systems.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* A proactive, adaptable mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of the UK supply base and retail landscape is highly desirable.
