Chief Nursing, AHP & Midwifery Officer

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) and Quality to join the Trust Board. This role is critical to the Trust’s new five‑year strategy and offers a significant opportunity to make a difference to patients, partners and local communities across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.
Main duties of the job
Providing highly visible professional leadership and direction for colleagues is a critical part of this role. The successful candidate will work closely with medical, operational and corporate colleagues to inspire improvements that make a real difference to patients and their families. The role also requires actively building relationships and collaborating across the Integrated Care Board, the Provider Collaborative and the area’s five providers as part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System.

Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse.
* Master’s degree, other relevant postgraduate qualification in nursing or related subject or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
Knowledge & Experience
* Board level experience.
* At least 3 years senior management experience in an NHS acute trust, operating at or close to Board level.
* Expert knowledge and skills in managing the demands of the Nursing, Midwifery and AHP workforce.
* Recent evidence of introducing practice innovation and change in professional practice.
* Detailed understanding of the process and delivery of healthcare services and of government policy for modernising healthcare.
* Experience of leading significant organisational change.
* Experience of improving services and patient experience through patient engagement.
* Experience in nursing and midwifery issues, including NMC requirements, pre and post‑registration nurse education and workforce redesign agenda.
* Experience of managing significant projects to successful completion and partnership working at a senior level.
* Experience of successful patient safety and quality agenda within an acute Trust environment.
* Experience of delivering high levels of productivity and efficiency.
* Experience of leading clinical governance and risk management strategies; understanding of clinical, information governance and quality performance.
* Experience of successfully managing complex serious incidents.
