Our client, a leading regional firm of Chartered Accounts, is actively seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their Barnsley office. This role will utilize the candidate's knowledge and skills to deliver a first-class service, providing accounts and audit support to a varied and impressive client base.
Duties
* Assisting with the management of a portfolio of clients
* Preparation of basic company financial statements
* Preparation of interim management accounts
* Preparation of personal tax returns
* Preparation of partnership accounts and returns
* Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
* Potential to attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners
* Assisting with the training of apprentices
* Company Secretarial Duties
* Preparation of P11Ds
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2-3 years experience working in an accountancy practice
* Experience with Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, Iris, Sage Business Cloud is an advantage
* Strong attention to detail
* Exceptional communication skills with a good telephone manner
* Strong written and technical skills
* Strong prioritisation and organisation skills
* Ability to handle confidential information
Qualifications
* Must be at least studying towards AAT or have completed a relevant university degree
* Studying towards ACA/ACCA is also acceptable
