A Vacancy at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The person appointed will be based across all three sites and will be a member of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate, joining the existing the existing Consultants and multidisciplinary team in providing excellent Major Trauma, trauma and elective Orthopaedics.
Applicants are required to hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent qualifications, to be fully registered with the General Medical Council with licence to practise and listed on the Specialist Register or due to be registered within six months of the date of appointment.
The successful candidate will have a special interest that will complement the department and aid in the recovery plan electively as well as trauma care. Participation in major trauma and general trauma is mandated. Please see the attached job plan for details. The appointee would be responsible for the clinical care of patients; undertaking ward rounds (we have a consultant of the week model), operating sessions, and outpatient clinics. It is anticipated that the appointee will work closely in partnership with existing surgeons. He/she will also be expected to visit other surgical centres of excellence with a view to enhancing his/her level of training and skills. The post-operative care of the patients will be covered by on‑call consultant colleagues during out of hours and/or the weekend.
