Overview of the Job
This is an operational role directly supervising work groups of offenders serving a community sentence. This may include driving service vehicles to transport people or equipment. The post holder will be responsible for all work site supervision tasks and will work with service users to ensure that all tasks are carried out to the best of their ability. This will include working alongside people to demonstrate good practice as necessary.
Working Pattern and Shift Requirements
Working pattern will include a weekend day and frequent weekend work. You may be asked to cover some evenings. Weekend days worked are paid at a 50% higher rate. Rest breaks may not follow the standard pattern due to the pace of work.
Responsibilities
Supervise and motivate small teams to complete unpaid work hours for offenders. Tasks include:
* Clearing overgrowth to make public spaces safer
* Restoring community facilities such as sports halls and playgrounds
* Planting trees or laying flowerbeds
* Litter picking and graffiti removal
* Building benches and cleaning streets
Qualifications and Requirements
Must hold the right to work in the UK. Must have a full UK Manual Driving Licence – automatic licences are not eligible. Eligibility for a Skilled Worker visa holder prior to 22 July 2025 is required for sponsorship consideration. Salary will start at £26,475.

Working Arrangements
Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding unpaid breaks. Hybrid working may be offered, allowing work from base location, MoJ sites or from home where business requires. Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing patterns are considered where they meet business needs.
