HARP (Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme) is United Utilities' largest capital project, involving the replacement of 6 tunnel sections along the aqueduct. This multi-billion pound project aims to secure drinking water supplies for millions in the North West and leave a lasting legacy.

The role
Are you an Engineer or Project Engineer eager to make a positive environmental and societal impact through large-scale, sustainable engineering projects? We seek a visionary Senior Project Engineer to help us deliver the HARP project, interfacing with designers, constructors, operations, and independent assessors. Responsibilities include onboarding delivery partners, design development, technical support, assurance outputs, and technical leadership during outages and connections. The role requires a leader capable of driving technical excellence and ensuring seamless engineering integration.
You will have visibility of major contracts and industry partners, witnessing projects being built and influencing our success. Stakeholder engagement and effective relationship management are crucial. Join us and contribute to a sustainable future for the North West of England!
Key accountabilities
* Collaborate with delivery teams and stakeholders for successful engineering outcomes
* Enhance engineering processes and practices across projects
* Create and implement project engineering plans aligned with client expectations
* Represent the engineering perspective within and outside the organization, managing risks and performance
Skills & experience
Essential criteria include:
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience
* Experience providing technical advice at a senior level, leading multidisciplinary projects and teams
* Valid UK/EU driving license
