We are seeking a teacher of maths who is passionate about the subject with a strong desire to help all children see and appreciate the value of maths. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced colleague or an early career teacher (ECT) looking to start their career in a collaborative, supportive department in a school at the heart of the local community.

About The Academy
Outwood Academy Redcar welcomes students aged 11-16 and is located in Redcar, near Middlesbrough in the North-East region. The academy fosters innovation and creativity, and provides a supportive environment with opportunities beyond the classroom. The Outwood family offers opportunities to work across several schools and a comprehensive CPD programme. Our Executive Director for Maths leads the Yorkshire and the Humber Maths Hub.
About The Department
The maths department has 7 classrooms in a dedicated maths wing, each equipped with an interactive TV and visualiser. You will join a strong team with experience teaching Key Stage 3 and GCSE maths. The department includes a one-to-one maths tutor for interventions. Leadership development and progression are priorities within the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality maths teaching for KS3 and KS4 where applicable
* Depict a student-centered approach to progression and attainment
* Contribute to curriculum planning and assessment to support teaching for understanding
* Collaborate with department colleagues and leadership to raise standards
* Support and participate in school-wide initiatives and CPD opportunities
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified teacher with the ability to teach Mathematics; KS4 ability is desirable
* Experience in a secondary school setting preferred; ECTs welcome
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
