We are currently working with a nurturing and inclusive primary school in Newton-le-Willows that is seeking a dedicated EYFS qualified Teaching Assistant to support a lovely child on a 1:1 basis. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for early years education and experience working with children who have additional needs.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s early development and learning journey and be part of the school's outgoing team.
The successful candidate will be supporting a child who requires extra help to access learning and daily routines. You will play a key role in encouraging their development, building trust, and helping them feel safe and supported throughout the school day. The role involves personal care, so applicants must befortable and confident in providing this support in a respectful and sensitive manner.
You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies that meet the child’s individual needs. A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach is essential, along with strongmunication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
1. Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with SEN needs.
2. Assist with personal care (nappy changing) and promote independence.
3. Ensure the child is engaged in all learning and activities.
4. Ensure the child ismunicating and engaging with other children.
5. Bepassionate and understanding.
6. Alter the delivery of learning to suit the child's needs.
7. Support the child’s social, emotional andmunication development.
8. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals.
9. Liaise with parents
10. Contribute to planning and delivering engaging EYFS activities.
11. Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and reports.
12. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
What you'll need to succeed
13. Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification.
14. Experience working with children in EYFS, particularly those with SEN.
15. Understanding of child development and early years frameworks.
16. Ability to build strong relationships with children, staff and families.
17. Patience, empathy and a proactive approach to learning support.
18. Enhanced DBS.
