Business Development Executive - Reading

Software and Psychometric testing

Reading (Office-based, 5 days per week)

£30,000-£35,000 basic | £50,000 OTE (uncapped)

At BMS, we've been engaged by a fast-growing learning and assessment provider to recruit a Business Development Executive. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that's scaling quickly, developing new products, and expanding its commercial team to support continued success.

The Company

Our client is a specialist provider of psychometric testing software and learning solutions, helping organisations improve how they understand, develop, and engage their people.

Founded in 2010 and now employing over 170 people globally, the business works with both corporate clients and a network of independent consultants. With over a decade of proven success and a focus on continuous innovation, they are now investing heavily in expanding their sales team.

Under strong commercial leadership, the company has grown its sales function from 3 to 10 people since 2020 and plans to hire five more over the next year. The culture is collaborative, ambitious, and full of people who genuinely believe in what they sell.

The Role

As a Business Development Executive, you'll focus on driving new business opportunities with organisations across the UK and Europe.

4. Engage HR, L&D, and Training leaders to understand their development needs.
5. Conduct discovery calls, demos, and tailored proposals to secure new partnerships.
6. Work a varied mix of inbound leads, marketing-generated activity, and self-sourced outreach.
7. Manage the full sales cycle - from prospecting through to onboarding and handover.
8. Expected activity: ~100 outbound calls per week and 4 new client meetings per week.

The Candidate

We're looking for an ambitious salesperson who has:

9. 1-2 years' experience in B2B sales with proven closing ability.
10. Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
11. Comfort making outbound calls and developing new relationships.
12. Ambition to grow into a senior role as the team continues to scale.

The Package

13. Basic Salary: £30,000-£35,000
14. OTE: £50,000 (uncapped)
15. Holidays: 25 days
16. Benefits: Pension, mobile provided, strong learning and development support
17. Location: Reading (office-based, 5 days per week)
