Public Protection Review Officer (x 3)

Several openings have emerged for a Public Protection Review Officer to join the Safeguarding Team based at Kirklees District.
In this role you will undertake tasks in relation to the management of Registered Sex Offenders (RSO's) in the community. This will include conducting assessments, registrations, periodic monitoring and reviews in compliance with relevant legislation to ensure effective management in the community.
Responsibilities
* Conduct risk assessments and develop management plans during visits to offenders' homes.
* Investigate and research third‑party disclosure and applications for Sexual Harm Prevention Orders (SHPO’s) and make recommendations.
* Liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies, providing advice and support as required.
* Represent the District at Multi Agency meetings to enable informed management plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Proven experience in the management or investigation of sex/dangerous offenders and/or child safeguarding investigations.
* Basic knowledge of sex offender legislation and ACPO Doctrine in respect of Managing Serious and Sexual offenders.
* Competent interviewing skills and ability to maintain integrity.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer packages.
* Ability to undertake and pass relevant training on West Yorkshire Police and National computerised databases, and Nationally accredited courses in the Management of Sexual and Violent Offenders.
* Willingness to work evenings and weekends, with 7.5 % unsocial hours payment and weekend enhancements.
* Ability to travel and work throughout the Force.
Due to the nature of the work, this is an emotionally challenging role; resilience to manage the emotional impact of extremely sensitive issues, such as child and adult sexual abuse, is essential.
