About The Role
As a Network Operations Supervisor, you’ll support the safe delivery of Network Operation activities within your allocated area of the M25 network. Your leadership will ensure planned and reactive operations run smoothly, challenges are resolved, and targets are consistently met.
Leading a team of Incident Support Unit (ISU) Operatives, Emergency Support Teams (ERT) Operatives and Recovery Operatives (Denham only) you’ll promote a safety‑first culture where everyone is committed to doing their work in the right way. You’ll ensure teams are appropriately briefed, working efficiently, and have the right resources to succeed.
You’ll also support the delivery of various inspection regimes, ensuring high standards of work are maintained across all activities, and you’ll contribute to incident management as the Bronze Command on the network.
What you’ll be doing
Network Operations Supervision
- Manage teams on‑site, including all ISU/ERT and Recovery operatives
- Carry out litter surveys, gate stops and safety tours
- Update the Maintenance Management System to capture all relevant data of works activities
- Ensure sufficient resources are in place to deliver all works activities
- Support the development and implementation of RAMS and procedures
- Prepare and deliver daily work briefings to operatives outlining methodology, hazards, risks, and control measures
- Deliver detailed debriefs at the end of each shift to identify issues and incorporate lessons learned into future activities
- Support the use of data devices amongst the team to ensure accurate input for reporting and record‑keeping
Safety and Compliance
- Lead by example to ensure all activities meet safety standards and comply with systems, processes, and procedures
- Raise awareness of issues which may affect the safe operation of the network, reporting these accordingly
Leadership
- Manage day‑to‑day people management tasks, including performance monitoring, absence management, overtime, and annual leave requests
- Support the growth and development of team members through ongoing feedback, training, and support
- Ensure regular internal and external communication with the team and deliver toolbox talks on a regular basis
Continuous Improvement & Sustainability
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, empowering teams to explore new ideas and solutions to enhance performance
- Support the achievement of sustainability objectives, ensuring activities align with environmental best practices and Connect Plus Services’ long‑term goals
Who we’re looking for
- Appropriate CSCS qualification
- SMSTS/SSSTS
- Experience in the delivery of a highways maintenance operations or similar transferable experience
- Team leadership and management experience driving performance and productivity
- Strong communication skills
- Strong customer focused mindset
- UK Driver’s License
Working Arrangements
- The role follows a 4‑on, 4‑off shift pattern, rotating equally between 4 day shifts and 4 night shifts
