Overview
Hampshire 24/7 Substance Use Service is a county‑wide, community‑engaged service offering targeted and specialist treatment to children and young people aged 25 years and under. The role is maternity cover for up to 10 months and will be based in one of the service hubs in Aldershot, Havant or Basingstoke.
Responsibilities
* Deliver specialist, targeted support to children and young people up to 25 years, providing confidential and non‑judgemental advice and guidance on the use of drugs and alcohol using a range of therapeutic interventions.
* Provide a safe, flexible and supportive environment for service users, maintaining effective relationships.
* Engage with a cross‑sector network of partner agencies and commissioners in the substance misuse sector.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development offered by Catch22 and Hampshire County Council.
Qualifications
* Minimum two years’ experience working with children and young people with complex needs or vulnerabilities (substance misuse, children’s mental health, children’s services, education, pastoral support or SEN).
* Strong ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
* Adaptable and resilient, able to maintain commitment to supporting service users.
* Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Salary and Benefits
* Annual salary from £26,097 depending on experience.
* Full‑time, 37 hours per week.
* Opportunity to practise remotely once or twice a week, subject to service requirements.
* Enhanced DBS check required.
Employment Details
Contract: Maternity cover for up to 10 months.
Location: Service hubs in Aldershot, Havant and Basingstoke with regular travel across the region.
